Squishy Toy Care: Check the Material First

Before cleaning a squishy, identify the maker and the exact product. Foam, coatings, and filled outer skins can require different care. A cleaning trick for one toy is not a general recipe for another.

Find the instructions

Look at the packaging or manufacturer's product page. If the cleaning method is unclear, contact the maker before soaking the toy or applying a household cleaner. Keep the packaging information or a photo of it so you can identify the toy later.

Check before and after play

Look for tears, crumbling surfaces, exposed filling, or damaged seams. Stop using a damaged toy; do not offer a home repair as a substitute for the manufacturer's advice. Put it out of reach while deciding how to dispose of it according to the product guidance.

Temperature is not a play experiment

Schylling explicitly warns against heating, freezing, or microwaving its Nice Cube and Gumdrop toys. Follow the instructions for your exact item and do not use social media demonstrations as care guidance.

Keep storage simple

Choose a clean place where the toy will not be crushed by sharp objects. Follow any temperature or sunlight guidance on the label. Return it to storage when play is finished and keep the product information nearby.
